Volunteer at Creekside

Creekside High School regularly uses volunteers in a number of areas including summer office help, orientation, textbook room, admission gates for events, concessions, proctoring, field trips, chaperoning, event ticket sales during lunches, front office, sporting events, drama productions, special events, athletic boosters, band boosters, club sponsors, PTSO - the opportunities are plentiful! Opportunities exist during and after regular school hours so helping out can fit almost anyone's schedule! Once you are in our database you will receive email notifications when volunteers are needed.

If you have never volunteered in our school district before, you will need to complete the online volunteer application form that can be found on the school district's website: http://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/depts/cr/volunteer/  You cannot volunteer until your application is cleared in the system.

If you already have an application in the system and would like to check your status or update any information, please contact Michelle Clark, CHS Volunteer Coordinator at CHSVOL@comcast.net

Volunteers are welcomed and valued at Creekside – we could not do all that we do without your help and support!

Thank you!
Michelle Clark
CHS Volunteer Coordinator

Lunch Volunteers
In order for a person to have lunch with his/her child, that person must now be a cleared volunteer.  In the past the decision to have a person cleared as a "visitor" or "volunteer" was a school decision.  It is now a district-wide process to assure that each person coming to the school for lunch time activity is to be cleared as a volunteer prior to being in the lunchroom.

Field Trip Attendance
It is now mandatory for a person to be a cleared volunteer to take part in any aspect of a school's field trip.  If a person's volunteer application has not been completed (either never submitted by the applicant or not completely cleared through the Sheriff's Office and sexual offender database) or if the person has applied and has been denied, he/she cannot take part in any part of the field trip.  This means that he/she cannot "follow the bus" to the location, or meet the group at the destination.
For the safety of the students and staff at Creekside, St. Johns County School District has a policy where all volunteers complete an online application.  When doing so you are agreeing to a criminal background check and a sexual offender check.  You are also agreeing to abide by the policies and procedures of the St. Johns County School Board and its facilities while volunteering.  In order to volunteer you must be an approved volunteer.

Your personal information will be kept confidential and you are expected to keep any and all information you may see or hear while volunteering confidential.  DO NOT fill out a new application if you have volunteered in the past. Instead email me your full name and DOB and Volunteer Services will transfer you to Creekside.
If you have not volunteered within the school district please complete the application online using our website (this can be done in the front office as well) be sure to Select Creekside as the facility.

Volunteer Guidelines:
  • As part of the Jessica Lunsford Act and for the safety of the students and staff at Creekside High School, St. Johns County School District has a policy where all volunteers are required to be approved before they can volunteer in any capacity which requires that person to be around students and staff during or after school hours.
  • All volunteers must complete an online application found on the district website (see above link.) When doing so volunteers are agreeing to a criminal background check and a sexual offender check and agree to abide by the policies and procedures of the St. Johns County School Board and its facilities while volunteering. In order to volunteer you must be an approved volunteer before the assignment begins.
  • Volunteer applications expire after 3 years.  Volunteers should check their status or update their information before completing another online application by contacting the Volunteer Coordinator, chsvol@comcast.net
  • Volunteers transferring from other SJCSD schools do not need to complete another application if they have already volunteered in the school district.  They may contact the Volunteer Coordinator to request that their record be linked to CHS.
  • Most volunteer applications are processed right away, however, some applications can take 3-6 weeks to process.  All volunteers should apply before the start of the athletic season in which they will volunteer.
  • During regular school hours, volunteers and visitors are required to sign in at the CHS Front Office to show a Photo ID (State Drivers License or State Photo ID only) and to receive a name badge.  Name badges must be worn at all times while on campus.
  • Questions about volunteering?  Contact the CHS Volunteer Coordinator, chsvol@comcast.net
